The 7 pillars of profit
Plus, my last 2 discounted consults
Quick note: I have 2 more discounted consults available. Those are $500 now. In a few hours, they’ll be $750, and I’ll bring them up to $1,000 early next year. Get yours:
Now, the topic for today. Someone replied to my last email asking what the biggest factors were in me being able to get out of the game so young. I’ll ignore the trading aspect and just do the business side. It comes down to 7 pillars:
Offer - Just having a skill isn’t enough. You need to sell one or two things that are specific and appealing. I also highly recommend having some small slice of your service that you give away for free to start conversations.
Results - You have to be able to deliver more value than you ask for. If you sell a profit-creating service to a business, you can show this pretty easily. If you don’t, it’s hard to prove, but you still can. Regardless, you need the skill and offer to do it.
Proof - Nobody will hire you if they don’t trust you to deliver. Proof is what bridges that gap. It’s the most important aspect of converting. By far. If you have it, use it often. If you don’t, work for free until you do.
Positioning - I define positioning the same way I define differentiation. It’s how you differ from your competition. You can do it with niche specificity, a unique philosophy, or an especially friendly offer.
Brand - This is basically just a combination of people liking you, trusting you, and thinking you’re unique. We already covered two of those, so I almost didn’t put this in, but it matters. Especially if you’re a coach, not a DFY service seller.
Exposure - For me, this is mostly content, DMs, and for some people, cold email. I never tried paid ads to sell my services, but I know others who have done well with that. Regardless, you need to get seen for any of this to work.
Funnel - I’m a fan of super simple funnels for service sellers. Conversion optimized social media + a conversion optimized landing page. That’s it. But having both of those dialed in leads to a lot better results.
Obviously there is so much more to discuss in many of those. Especially the exposure bit. But understand that those are the foundations. This new consult offer is how I’m going to help people figure those out going forward. A course can only take you so far. 1v1 help tends to work better and save months of trying bad ideas.
Book one of those and let’s talk.
Enjoy the rest of your week ✌️
