Every Tuesday, I send a summary of everything I’ve talked about in my mini-essays and videos from Copyblogger Academy in the last week. Hit that link to join for $1 and get the full versions, 6 courses, and a lot more. Read below to get a small taste…
“AI can do {thing} fast and easy!” is its own little industry on social media right now. But most of the stuff you see flat-out doesn’t work. AI can do a mediocre job very quickly. It can’t do anything in the content world well. Remember that.
Don’t think that content and outreach are two strategies you have to choose from. You can and should do both. Outreach helps you earn quickly. Content helps you earn slowly but passively. Both complement each other and are worth doing.
Personal result hooks continue to be the best way to get followers and build your brand. When people see that you did something impressive, they want to learn more about you. Many of them will follow. Some will also buy from you.
Customer result hooks continue to be the best way to get sales. When people see that you’re driving the result they want for people like them, they gain trust in you and take buying actions (buying, booking a call, etc). It’s that simple.
Proof is your best persuader. The most powerful forms of it are specific customer results, general total results driven, personal results, testimonials, and logos of brands worked with. Hustle to get proof. Then use it constantly.
Uniqueness is your second best persuader. You can get it through specificity of niche, philosophy behind what you do, having an especially friendly offer, or some combination of both. Use this and proof everywhere. Profile, website, content, etc.
Every business, big and small, has a couple of primary levers that help them grow. I don’t know what yours are, but I bet there are one or two tasks that matter much more than others. Make those daily non-negotiables. Prioritize them over all else.
Your persuasive pillars in cold outreach are proof, uniqueness, and some small slice of your offer that you give away for free. Build your social media and email flows with those in mind. Don’t stuff messages, but work those in organically.
Another reason to not stuff messages, beyond wanting to make them concise and conversational, is that most people answer messages after checking out your profile and/or website. Dial those in, and they’ll make outreach results better.
Personal photo posts are great, but only if you have a really good hook. As I said earlier, personal and professional results are both great. There are a few others. If you’re going to post a photo of yourself, make sure you nail the hook.
Hope at least one of those gives you a helpful insight or strategy.
Talk to you next week ✌️
